Many relatives caring for someone with an addiction find themselves unable to talk to other family members or their friends at a time when they most need support.
Our experience shows these carers feel isolated from the wider Jewish community and benefit from help and understanding of their situation.
The Addictive Disorders’ Support service provides one to one, family or group support in a secure and confidential environment.
The type of addictive behaviour, whether it is concerned with drugs, alcohol, or behaviours such as gambling, has the same effect on other family members. This may be financial, physical and/or emotional and we encourage family members to discuss their feelings and fears openly, focusing on their needs, and guiding them on their own road to recovery.
