The week gave Jewish Care the opportunity to celebrate what they’re doing right in addition to using new ideas as a learning opportunity to grow and further better their customer service.
This follows the charity’s success in achieving the Government Standard for Customer Services Excellence Award in August. The charity was found to have a deep understanding and commitment to customer service excellence, from senior management right down to front line staff. All centres and resources now display the coveted certificate.
Practice across all areas of Jewish Care’s services was commended, with particular praise for the Kadimah and Martin B. Cohen Centres for Wellbeing; the Sam Beckman Special Day Care Centre and Rosetrees care home.
The assessors also praised the Music for Life Project, which they viewed as exceptional. Music for Life was originally pioneered in close collaboration with Jewish Care, and has now been launched on a national basis by the Wigmore Hall. The project uses music as a means of communicating beyond words and enhancing self-expression for people with dementia.
Cydonie Garfield, Jewish Care’s Assistant Director of Community Services was thrilled and said: “We are delighted that we were successful on first application. The award recognises the professionalism and compassion with which our staff relate to all our customers. Over the last nine months we have received a 17% increase in the number of compliments about our customer service.”
