Jewish Care is a shining example of community responsibility, says British Airways CEO Willie Walsh. He was addressing a packed audience of 215 people at Jewish Care’s Business Breakfast at Claridges.

Walsh spoke of his admiration for Jewish Care and of his background in the airline industry. He also spoke of the importance of the Heathrow - Tel Aviv route, which British Airways has been flying twice daily since 1994.

Commenting on the work Jewish Care does every day, Mr Walsh said: “Jewish Care has been making a difference to countless members of the Jewish community for such a long time. It is truly a wonderful service and does very important work. It is a fantastic charity and it deserves the support you all give it.”

Stephen Zimmerman, Chairman of Jewish Care, said that Jewish Care has to raise £15 million every year to run its services, and emphasised the theme of community responsibility, saying: “It is our loved ones who we need to look after when they get older, which is why Jewish Care is so important.”

The breakfast was sponsored by Coller Capital and £29,000 was raised for Jewish Care’s services.
