H.O.P.E.



Homes Outings Programme and Entertainment (H.O.P.E.) offer a range of events for members of the community, with the profits paying for the residents of the homes to go on their own specially arranged trips.

Each outing leaves from and returns to Limes Avenue.
 

TUESDAY 14 FEBRUARY: Guided Tour of the British Library in St Pancreas.

A "backstage" tour of the British Library. You'll be able to view the Sir John Ritblatt Gallery, which is home to some of the Library's greatest treasures including documents relating to the Magna Carter, Captain's Scott's diary recording his journey to the South Pole and even texts including the Golden Haggadah. There is plenty of seating available throughout the whole of this large building, as well as a lift to all floors.

WEDNESDAY 29 FEBRUARY: "Master Class" at the Vaudeville Theatre.

DeSee the smash hit Broadway show "Master Class", opening in the West End and starring Tyne Daly (of Cagney and Laceu fame), widely acclaimed for her role as the iconic opera singer Maria Callas. Her turbulent private life and talent is shown in this riveting, hilarious and intensely moving production, for which front stall seats are available.

MONDAY 12 MARCH: Blue Badge guided coach tour entitled "Film Location Tour".

The highly respected London Blue Badge Guide and authoress, Rachel Kolsky will take to the microphone as you relax on board the coach for a "Film Location Tour". Starting off with a visit to the refurbished Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley, this guided tour will take in sites from Smithfield to Mile End, Dalston to Islington, be it buildings associated with the film industry or simply homes where the stars once lived. The afternoon ends with a cream tea at Patisserie Valerie in Spitalfields.

THURSDAY 29 MARCH: "The Diary of Anne Frank" at the Swan Theatre in High Wycombe.

An outing to see on stage the dramatic story of "The Diary of Anne Frank" starring Christopher Timothy taking the role of Otto Frank. The production will mark the 60th anniversary of the diary's publication in English. We must support this production- so that the story is never forgotten. Future generations must always remember- especially as new letters to be included have recently been released by Otto Frank.
